B-M Names New Australian Chief Executive

Burson-Marsteller has announced a strategic partnership with the leading Australian issues management company Kortlang. As part of the arrangement, Kortlang’s chief executive officer, Ian Kortlang, will join B-M as chief executive officer.

SYDNEY, August 18—Burson-Marsteller has announced a strategic partnership with the leading Australian issues management company Kortlang. As part of the arrangement, Kortlang’s chief executive officer, Ian Kortlang, will join Burson-Marsteller Australia as chief executive officer.
 
According to Bill Rylance, president and CEO of Burson-Marsteller Asia-Pacific, “Burson-Marsteller has a 22-year history and strong reputation in Australia. This arrangement demonstrates our determination to firmly re-establish market leadership through the delivery of unique and comprehensive client solutions.”
 
Kortlang ran his own consultancy until 1996 when the firm was acquired by Gavin Anderson & Company. He served as chairman and CEO of Gavin Anderson Australia until June 2000.
 
Burson-Marsteller has offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
