B-M Signs New Indian Affiliate

A month after severing its ties with longtime Indian partner Roger Pereira Communications, Burson-Marsteller has announced an affiliate agreement with Genesis PR, which will serve as B-M’s exclusive partner in India.

NEW YORK, July 22—A month after severing its ties with longtime Indian partner Roger Pereira Communications, Burson-Marsteller has announced an affiliate agreement with Genesis PR, which will serve as B-M’s exclusive partner in India.
 
According to B-M chief executive Chris Komisarjevsky, “Genesis PR [is] an outstanding public relations firm that has a unique understanding of the local marketplace.” He said the new relationship was a result of the firm’s recognition that India is an increasingly important marketplace.
 
“India is rapidly becoming a key market for industry-leading clients and our partnership with Genesis PR will enhance our quality of services and reach,” said Bill Rylance, president and CEO for Burson-Marsteller’s Asia/Pacific Region. “Our new partnership provides clients with first-class products and services from two leading public relations agencies and the opportunity to tap into Burson-Marsteller’s global network and Genesis PR’s nationwide network which reaches over 20 key cities in India.”
 
Genesis was founded in 1992 and is a full-service firm serving clients in technology, healthcare, and consumer and lifestyle sectors.
 
“This partnership is part of Genesis PR’s core strategy to provide its clients and associates the best in public relations services and global opportunities,” said Prema Sagar, principal and founder.
 
Roger Pereira said the decision to end the relationship with Burson-Marsteller, which had a 49 percent in his firm, was a mutual one.
