Banta to Lead Strategic Communications at Schering

Schering-Plough Corporation has hired Ken Banta to lead its strategic communications, working closely with the chairman and CEO and the other members of the company’s executive management team on internal and external communications.

KENILWORTH, NJ—Schering-Plough Corporation has hired Ken Banta to lead its strategic communications, working closely with the chairman and CEO and the other members of the company’s executive management team on internal and external communications.

Previously, Banta served as the head of strategic communications at Pharmacia Corporation. Prior to assuming that role, he was a senior executive with Burson-Marsteller, based in London, after enjoying a 10-year career with Time magazine, where he served as a writer, reporter, and Eastern Europe bureau chief.

Banta is also chairman of the New York-based Global Public Affairs Institute.
