NEW YORK—Brunswick Group has hired Ellen Barry as partner in its New York office. Barry’s experience includes high-profile work in M&A, financial communications, litigation and crisis management. She also possesses significant international experience having worked in Beijing, Brussels, London and Paris.
Barry joins Brunswick from Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher where she was a managing director and worked on issues ranging from proxy contests to SEC investigations to financial restatements. Her assignments have included Motorola’s appointment of a new CEO and that company’s announcement to separate its semiconductor business; Boyd Gaming’s acquisition of Coast Casinos; Revlon’s restructuring of its debt; ArvinMeritor’s proposed acquisition of Dana Corp.; El Paso’s proxy contest; and Walter Hewlett’s opposition to the Hewlett-Packard/Compaq merger.
Prior to joining Joele Frank, Barry worked at Fleishman-Hillard as a senior vice president and Partner. She also worked at Ogilvy Adams & Rinehart and held in-house corporate communications positions at Continental Bank in Chicago and at JP Morgan’s headquarters in New York.
