PALO ALTO—Paul Bergevin, who joined Citigate Cunningham last year as managing director of global business development, has been named president of the firm. He succeeds Joe Hamilton, who is leaving to establish a consultancy serving the needs of professional services firms. Citigate Cunningham will be one of Hamilton’s clients.

According to Andy Cunningham, CEO and chairman of the Incepta unit, Bergevin will lead all agency public relations accounts in the U.S. and continue to build the agency’s presence through alliances with sister companies in 69 offices worldwide.

“During the past year, Paul has successfully secured new client engagements, while growing existing ones,” says Cunningham. “Through his tenacity and dynamic management style, we have been able to thrive in a precarious economic environment. Paul’s impressive track record reflects his true passion for this business, and I have confidence his leadership will continue to motivate our people, grow our company and inspire the highest quality work on behalf of our clients.”

Bergevin is a 20-year high tech marketing veteran who previously served as vice president, corporate marketing, at Certive Corporation and led development of Edelman Worldwide’s global technology PR practice. He also spent eight years at IBM, where he was director of public relations.
