BOSTON—Bill Fleishman, president of Cone Communications, has also assumed the role of chief executive officer, succeeding Jens Bang, who will now serve as chairman.

Fleishman joined Cone Communications in 2000 and was named president in 2010. He has been responsible for day-to-day operations in addition to leading the agency’s brand communications discipline. He has led key strategic initiatives including opening the New York office, launching social media, creative, and entertainment marketing specialty areas and a suite of new products and services while managing key agency accounts.

In his new role, he will report to Dale Adams, president and CEO of the Diversified Agency Service group of Omnicom, Cone’s parent company.

Bang served as CEO since 2005. In his new role as chairman, he will provide counsel on agency strategy and engage with select clients and business development efforts.
