BOSTON—Janey Bishoff and Helene Solomon, partners in Boston-based public relations and crisis management firm Bishoff Solomon Communications, are parting ways. The two, who joined forces to create Bishoff Somolon 14 years ago, will divide up the clients and employees of the firm and launch two separate, independent PR firms.

Bishoff has already launched Bishoff Communications, which will serve clients including the local McDonald’s owner-operators. Solomon will be partnering with Ashley McCown, the firm’s executive vice president, to form Solomon McCown & Company, which will represent Pfizer, Six Flags, Delaware North and the Greater Boston Real Estate Board.

About 14 of the firm’s approximately 20 professionals will join Solomon McCown, which will focus on public affairs, community relations, and crisis counseling, including litigation communications. The remainder will join Bishoff.

Bishoff Solomon is expected to survive as an entity for some time, and Bishoff told Boston area reporters that the firm would continue to represent some existing clients until their contracts expire.
