NEW YORK—Diane Blackman, founder and president of technology and entertainment PR firm D.L. Blackman & Co., and Cindy Rakowitz, former division president for Playboy Enterprises, have joined forces to create a new bi-coastal agency focused on "dramatically boosting mindshare and market share for its clients." With offices in New York and Los Angeles, Blackman Rakowitz Public Relations will provide media relations—including Internet, viral campaigns, prime time TV, newspaper front pages, magazine covers, guerilla marketing and blogs—on both coasts.

Blackman was the founder and for more than a decade the president of D.L. Blackman & Co., which provided support to clients in the fields of business, technology and entertainment. As a division president for Playboy Enterprises, Rakowitz was instrumental in promoting global brand partnerships throughout the world. Clients of the two have included Madame Tussauds New York, Loews Cineplex Entertainment, NBC Universal, Sony Corporation, Discovery Networks, Michael Moore, and Patron Tequila & Spirits Company.

Blackman Rakowitz Public Relations has also formed a close association with Marco de Comunicacion, one of the leading independent PR agencies in Spain, which specializes in communication support for companies and brands in the technology, industrial, healthcare and consumer sectors.
