Bloomberg Administration Veteran Joins H&K

Hill & Knowlton has hired Michael Sherman as a senior vice president in its New York office. Sherman joins the agency from the administration of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg

NEW YORK—Hill & Knowlton has hired Michael Sherman as a senior vice president in its New York office. Sherman joins the agency from the administration of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, where he was senior vice president and communications director of the NYC Economic Development Corporation. At H&K, Sherman will focus on counseling a cross-section of financial services, professional services and public affairs clients.

As press secretary and communications director of the Economic Development Corporation, Sherman was responsible for helping to develop and execute communications strategies for the Bloomberg administration’s citywide economic development agenda.  Before joining EDC, Sherman was a vice president in the corporate practice at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.

Katherine Saunders has also joined the practice as vice president and she will focus on H&K’s clients in areas of global trade and investment, and expansion into key international markets and will also work with the real estate and professional services clients within the corporate practice. She joins from Development Counsellors International, where she specialized in economic development and destination marketing.
