HOUSTON—After a three-month agency review, enterprise management solutions company BMC Software has selected Waggener Edstrom Worldwide as the company’s new strategic partner in North America. Palo Alto-based GlobalFluency and New York’s Weber Shandwick also participated in the final round of the review. Waggener Edstrom replaces Porter Novelli, which had been agency of record for the past six years.

“Our agency review was hotly contested by the three finalists,” says Mark Stouse, who joined BMC as director of worldwide corporate communications earlier this year and also leads analyst relations for the company. “We saw three of the best communications teams in the world pull out all the stops as part of the review. In the end, Waggener Edstrom consistently delivered a perspective and value proposition that was unique and very compelling.”

Sarah Russ, vice president and general manager for Waggener Edstrom’s Austin office, will lead the BMC Software account team.
