NEW YORK—Healthcare public relations expert Bob Chandler, founder of the Chandler Chicco Companies and more recently president of inVentiv Health Communications, is stepping down to spend more time with his family.
Along with partner Gianfranco Chicco, Chandler founded Chandler Chicco in 1995 and built it into the world’s largest independent healthcare public relations firm before its sale to specialist holding company inVentiv, and launched a number of subsidiary companies including Biosector 2, focused on biotech and specialty pharma, and consumer health specialist Allidura.
The firm also became known as one of the industry’s most progressive and best workplaces.
For the past two years, Chandler has been leading inVentiv Health Communications, which in addition to CCC and public relations sister firm Chamberlain Communications, includes inVentiv Medical Communications, Digital+Innovation, and Washington, DC-based joint venture Breakaway Policy Strategies.
Chandler will remain in place through mid-summer, working with inVentiv’s leadership team to ensure a smooth transition. He says the firm is focused on identifying external candidates to take over his role.
According to inVentiv chief executive Paul Meister. “Given the investment we have made in building a strong leadership team and growing the business, the path now is clear for a transition…. We will all miss Bob, his focus on people, his vision for the future, [and] his steady counsel.”
