LOS ANGELES—Bob Gold & Associates, a California-based public relations agency focused on the technology sector, has formed a new practice area in partnership with D4 Creative Group, a branding and direct response agency. The practice is dedicated to providing cable operators with customized and turnkey packages to better communicate to current and potential customers the impact of the upcoming broadcast stations’ digital transition.
The digital transition practice will be led by Bob Gold and Kurt Shore, principals of Gold & Associates and D4 respectively, supported by staff with years of professional experience in the cable and telecommunications industry. The firms have created a turnkey marketing and communications tool kit that will speak to customers about the DTV transition.
“Effectively communicating the digital transition may be a huge new customer acquisition opportunity, but also a cost burden to cable operators,” says Shore. “We felt that by partnering our agencies, operators could get the best of our experiences at a more economical cost.”
As mandated by Congress, on February 17, 2009, nearly 1,600 full-power TV stations in the United States will turn off their analog broadcasts and switch to full digital transmission.
