LOS ANGELES—Reputation.com, an online reputation management firm, has hired veteran entertainment public relations expert and crisis communications consultant Howard Bragman as vice chairman. Bragman will draw on his crisis expertise to raise awareness about the importance of managing online image.

Most recently founder and chairman of Los Angeles-based Fifteen Minutes Public Relations—where he continues to serve as chairman—Bragman previously founded entertainment PR specialist Bragman Nyman Cafarelli, which he later sold to Interpublic and which now operates as PMK/BNC. Earlier, he was vice president in the Los Angeles office of Burson-Marsteller.

"The Internet is undermining the ability of businesses, professionals and everyday folks to maintain their public personas and reputations," says Bragman. "Reputation.com empowers anyone and everyone to regain control of their image in the place that it is created and propagated today—on the Internet. I've helped manage clients' reputations for over three decades and I am honored to join a company that shares my passion."

Reputation.com is a venture-backed company with funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins, JAFCO, Floodgate and August Capital. It seeks to help individuals and businesses to control their privacy and reputation online.
