LONDON—US tech player Brocade has handed comms duties for the UK and EMEA to FleishmanHillard.

The company, which specialises in data and storage networking, appointed Fleishman following a competitive pitch. The business was previously handled by Speed Communications, who worked on the account for less than 12 months.

Fleishman is tasked with providing  UK media relations, content and EMEA hub coordination services.

“Our objective was to find an agency partner who can help us work creatively to build on our technology leadership position," said Brocade corporate communications senior manager Stuart Marks. "We were impressed by FleishmanHillard’s tech expertise and integrated approach to traditional, social and digital content and are confident that we’ll see greater engagement with our messaging across all platforms as we work together moving forwards.”

FleishmanHillard will report to the head of worldwide corporate communications and the EMEA marketing team based in Bracknell, UK.

Sophie Scott, head of Technology at Fleishman London, noted that Brocade "has an opportunity not just to talk about the future of networking, but the technological shifts that this will enable around game-changing issues such as big data, software defined networking, cloud computing and more.”
