WASHINGTON, D.C.—SKDKnickerbocker has added Hilary Rosen, a veteran communications and political strategist, as managing director. Rosen joins the firm, which has been expanding its communications and public affairs practice, after two years leading the Brunswick Group’s Washington, D.C., office.
Rosen’s career included high-profile public affairs challenges, media and issues management. She was formerly chairman and chief executive officer of the Recording Industry Association of America and has consulted for major corporations, social networks and media outlets. During the 2008 election Rosen served as political director for the Huffington Post as well as a regular on-air commentator for CNN.
The announcement follows the return of agency principal Anita Dunn, who had recently been on leave to serve as President Obama’s communications director.
Earlier in her career, Rosen worked for former Governor Brendan Byrne (D-NJ) and U.S. Senator Bill Bradley (D-NJ) and was a lobbyist with Liz Robbins Associates. She was transition director in 1992 for then newly-elected U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Cal.)
