LONDON—Brunswick, the international financial communications firm, has appointed Catherine Gerst, an expert in credit risk and credit rating, as Partner with immediate effect. Gerst will be based in Paris, but her expertise will be made available to Brunswick clients across Europe to help them in communicating with debt markets, in general, and credit rating agencies in particular.
Until recently, Gerst headed Moody’s in France where she was also co-head of European securitisation and global head of mutual fund ratings. She joins Brunswick from Gimar Finance & Cie where she was partner in charge of rating advisory services and structured finance.
Says Gerst, “The mergers and acquisitions wave of recent years was financed mostly by increased debt, either through bank financings or capital markets issuance, so communicating properly in this area has now become vital for many companies.”
