HARTFORD, April 6—Roy Clason, former vice president of worldwide corporate communications for Dell Computer Corporation and most recently leader of the technology practice at Burson-Marsteller, has joined insurance giant Aetna as vice president of public relations, responsible for media relations and other external communications. He reports to Roger Bolton, the company’s senior vice president of communications.

Before joining Burson-Marsteller as managing director two years ago, Clason held senior communications positions at Dell, where he handed crisis communications, financial communications, and media relations; Mastercard International, and the American Red Cross, where he was a top advisor to president Elizabeth Dole.
According to Bolton, “Aetna is engaged in a significant transformation of the way we do business. We are putting the patient at the center of everything we do, and building strong partnerships with physicians and hospitals. Roy is a thoughtful and seasoned professional, who will help us develop and execute a strategy to communicate the many changes we are making.”
