EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—Healthcare public relations veteran Ame Wadler has joined MWW Group as executive vice president, chief management officer and global healthcare practice leader. Working closely with MWW Group CEO Michael Kempner and the senior management team, Wadler will be charged with leading the strategic direction of the agency and further developing the global healthcare practice. She will also be responsible for devising new thought leadership platforms for the agency and driving practice integration across all geographical offices.

Wadler was most recently chief strategic officer at Burson-Marsteller Worldwide and chairman of that agency’s global healthcare practice. As healthcare practice chair, she engineered and led several global new product launches including Botox Cosmetic, Enbrel and the reintroduction of silicone gel breast implants to the U.S. market. She also helped to position insurance and technology companies within the healthcare space to benefit their product and service lines and employee offerings.

Wadler has counseled clients through numerous high-profile product recalls, congressional hearings on product safety, and attorney general investigations into marketing practices. She has also provided litigation support in both patent protection and product liability cases.   Most recently, she acted as a senior counselor to Colgate as they dealt with issues related to counterfeit products.

And in her additional role as chief strategic officer, Wadler shaped the agency’s global issues research with the launch of the “Global Issues Index” and strengthened the agency’s foundational “e-fluential” research by targeting specific communities such as mothers, youth and African Americans.

Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller, Wadler held positions of increasing responsibility at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, Hill and Knowlton and Lobsenz-Stevens.
