LONDON—Burson-Marsteller has confirmed the appointment of Jonathan Jordan as the market leader of its London operation. Jordan, who took over on an interim basis following the departure this summer of Per Heggenes, will report directly to Heidi Sinclair, president & CEO of Burson-Marsteller Europe.

Jordan joined B-M in 2003 as the head of its U.K. technology practice and oversaw rapid growth before his promotion to chair of the European technology practice a year later. In January 2005, Jordan took over leadership of the U.K. corporate practice.

“Jonathan’s contribution to Burson-Marsteller’s growth, both in the UK and at the global level, has been extraordinary,” says Sinclair. “His industry knowledge, commercial acumen and above all strong leadership are exactly the qualities we were looking for in a leader of this vital market for B-M,.”

Prior to Burson-Marsteller, Jordan was at Fleishman-Hillard for almost five years, leading the technology, media and telecommunications practice. Earlier, he held both agency and in-house roles and originally started his career as a journalist on specialist consumer technology publications such as What Hi-Fi? and Home Entertainment.
