BEIJING—Burson-Marsteller China is opening a representative office in Shenzen. Kelly Yang, a Director previously based in Burson-Marsteller China’s Guangzhou operation, will lead the new office.

“Shenzhen is a strategic location for Chinese and multinational companies, covering consumer, technology, property and financial institutions.” says Cindy Tian, executive chair, Burson-Marsteller China. “These organizations focus on the domestic and global markets, and require both local and international expertise and counsel.”

Burson-Marsteller entered China in 1985 and was one of the first global public relations firms to operate in the People's Republic of China. In 1992, Burson-Marsteller China was established through a joint venture. The firm has branch offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and offices in Chengdu and Shenzhen that conduct research and liaison work for the company.
