Burson, Morgan Stanley Veteran O'Rourke Joins IXIS

IXIS Asset Management Group has named former Burson-Marsteller and Morgan Stanley executive Raymond O’Rourke executive vice president of global communications, with responsibility for the development and execution of the group’s global corporate communications strategy.

BOSTON—IXIS Asset Management Group has named former Burson-Marsteller and Morgan Stanley executive Raymond O’Rourke executive vice president of global communications, with responsibility for the development and execution of the group’s global corporate communications strategy. O’Rourke will report to Peter Voss, chairman and chief executive.

According to Voss, “As a global firm with a diverse line-up of affiliated investment managers, IXIS Asset Management Group needs to take a multi-faceted approach to external and internal communications. With his extensive background, Ray is the right person to help us define and develop our global communications strategy.” IXIS Asset Management offers a full spectrum of equity, fixed income and alternative investment strategies in Europe, the United States and Asia.

O’Rourke was previously a managing director and head of global corporate affairs at Morgan Stanley, where he was responsible for the firm’s external and internal communications. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he spent 20 years at Burson-Marsteller, most recently as managing director and head of its North American crisis management consulting practice, serving clients including Pan American World Airways, Philip Morris, Motorola, Perrier and the U.S. Olympic Committee.
