NEW YORK—Burson-Marsteller has appointed Lisa Davidson as a managing director in the firm’s global healthcare practice. Davidson was most recently a partner at communications firm Porter Novelli, where she led the firm’s New York healthcare practice. She has more than 17 years of strategic communications, product marketing, advocacy development and issues management experience.
She will be based in New York and report to Burson-Marsteller’s global healthcare chair Gail Cohen. Davidson will work with Cohen on continuing to build the practice across Burson-Marsteller’s global network and will create communications programs with the healthcare team while providing counsel and identifying brand and market opportunities for healthcare clients.
During her tenure at Porter Novelli she worked with specialty pharmaceutical firms, global pharmaceutical companies and biopharmaceutical companies on both domestic and international programs. She has partnered with clients in multiple disease areas, spanning CNS, infectious disease, autoimmune, metabolic, respiratory, arthritis, aesthetics, addiction and consumer health.
Davidson also was accountable for managing the operational and financial aspects of the New York healthcare business, pursuing new business; and developing talent and served on the New York office’s operating committee.
Prior to Porter Novelli, Davidson started her healthcare career at Edelman in New York.
