NEW YORK—Burson-Marsteller has named Lisa Travatello as chair of its global consumer and brand marketing practice and creative director. Travatello will be based in the firm’s New York office and will report to Mark Penn, worldwide CEO, and will also be a member of the business operations team, a group that includes the firm’s most senior executives.

Travatello was most recently executive vice president and curator of creativity for Current Lifestyle Marketing and previously served as executive vice president of consumer marketing and chief creative officer for Weber Shandwick. In her new role, she will be tasked with leading and growing the firm’s global brand and consumer marketing offering.

At Current, Travatello opened the agency’s New York office and supported key clients such as Samsung Home Appliances, Travel Alberta, Bali Intimate Apparel, The Clorox Company, Pure Dark, Weleda and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. At Weber Shandwick, she worked with clients such as Hanesbrands, Unilever, Liberty Mutual, General Motors, Ocean Spray, and The Life & Health Insurance Foundation.

Prior to Weber Shandwick, Travatello worked at Porter Novelli International, Edelman Worldwide, Ogilvy & Mather Public Relations and DDF&M. Earlier, she was publicity manager and spokeswoman for Kaufmann’s department stores and public relations coordinator for the City of Pittsburgh Department of Parks & Recreation.
