CALGARY—Hill & Knowlton Canada has acquired the assets of Sparks + Noble, a public relations and public affairs agency specializing in the energy sector in Calgary.

“In February, we announced that we were committed to expanding our operations in western Canada. The doubling of the Alberta operation, combined with our expertise in the Houston office, and our national network in Canada will make Hill & Knowlton very competitive within the energy sector,” says Michael Coates, president and CEO of Hill & Knowlton Canada.

Formed in 1997, Sparks + Noble currently operates offices in both Calgary and Edmonton, led by Robin Sparks, managing partner and Doug Noble, senior partner. It provides counsel to clients in a range of industries, with special emphasis on Alberta’s oil and gas exploration and production sector.

“This merger adds bench strength to our Alberta operation and extends our expertise into Saskatchewan and Manitoba.” adds Brian Wik, senior vice president and general manager, Hill & Knowlton Alberta. “Combining the talents of our two offices will allow us to increase our corporate communications and government relations offering to clients.”
