ATLANTA—Calysto, a marketing communications firm for the mobile and telecom industries, has broadened its service offerings to provide a full array of content development and social media marketing services that complement traditional PR offerings. New services will include blog content, customer collateral, e-books, e-mail newsletters and more.

The firm has appointed Jason Meyers (pictured) as chief content officer and Scott Samele as chief digital media officer.

Meyers will lead the firm’s content services group. He has more than 20 years of experience in the content realm, much of it leading the editorial staff of Telephony magazine. He also directed custom content initiatives for companies in the telecom and other sectors as managing director of Penton Media’s custom content division. Most recently, Meyers oversaw content creation for a broader business audience as the executive editor of Entrepreneur magazine.

Samele, who heads the social media services group, previously founded Tangelo, a hybrid PR firm that shows brands how to use social media to complement traditional PR programs. Clients included technology firms like Metaswitch, Endace, Sonus and SS8. He also was client services director at branding consultancy OVO and a principal partner of Mavericks Group, a boutique digital marketing shop.
