SAN DIEGO—A new life sciences public relations firm, Canale Communications has been launched by Carin Canale-Theakston, former president of Porter Novelli Life Sciences and before that a partner in Atkins & Associates, which was acquired by Porter Novelli as part of the expansion of its life sciences public relations offering.

Canale-Theakston and her team have experience that spans the biotech, pharma, diagnostic, medical device and enabling technology industries. The team--including Jason Spark, senior vice president; Pam Lord, senior vice president; and Canale-Theakston, president—has worked together for nearly a decade.

Canale Communications will partner with life science companies to build credible reputations that help them navigate a complex marketplace. According to Canale-Theakston: “In today’s challenging business environment, reputation equity gives companies the credibility to raise capital, the authority to respond to a crisis, the trust to operate, and the power to influence perception.”
