Carmichael Lynch Spong Names Olson and White Practice Leaders

Kelly Olson has been named senior counselor and chair of the experiential marketing practice group at public relations firm Carmichael Lynch Spong, based out of the firm’s Minneapolis headquarters.

MINNEAPOLIS—Kelly Olson has been named senior counselor and chair of the experiential marketing practice group at public relations firm Carmichael Lynch Spong, based out of the firm’s Minneapolis headquarters. Her role as chair includes developing strategies that connect consumers with brands in personally relevant and memorable ways.

 

At the same time, Laurence White has been named senior counselor and chair of crisis and issues management within the corporate reputation practice, also based out of the Minneapolis office. White’s main responsibilities include providing strategic communications counsel in a number of corporate reputation disciplines, including contingency planning, risk mitigation, litigation support, crisis and issues management and overall corporate positioning.

 

Olson comes to Carmichael Lynch Spong from Target Corporation, where she was a senior manager of events marketing and publicity for fashion, accessories, licensing and branding. She also has extensive experience managing external agencies and teams of events and publicity professionals. 

 

Prior to working at Target Corporation, she was associate director of public relations for Mall of America. While there, she was influential in managing overall communications planning, media relations and crisis communication. Earlier, Olson was an account supervisor for Fleishman-Hillard, and her broadcast experience includes six years working as an associate producer for The Oprah Winfrey Show.

 

White’s professional experience includes more than five years of senior-level counsel to client CEOs and similar C-Suite executives. Prior to joining CLS, he was a senior associate with Sard Verbinnen & Co. He also worked as an account supervisor for Chicago-based Scanlon Corporate Communications.
