BOSTON—FitzGerald Communications has named Steven Casey to the newly created position of president. Casey is rejoining the firm, where he was a vice president from 1997 to 1999, from IONA Technologies, a leading provider of rapid integration software, where he was vice president of corporate marketing.
A 20-year veteran of both agency and corporate-side communications, Casey has experience in media relations, investor relations, crisis communications and government affairs, and investor relations veteran with aas well as deep domain expertise in integration, security and application development.
“I have long wanted to bolster the leadership of the agency and Steve’s business experience, management ability and coaching style make him the perfect match for this role,” says Maura FitzGerald, agency founder and CEO. She says Casey will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the agency.
Prior to IONA Technologies, Casey was director of corporate communications at RSA Security where he oversaw all communications activities including marketing, advertising and communications activities including corporate positioning, vision/mission developmentpublic relations, investor relations, analyst relations and internal employee communications. He also facilitated government affairs for the company. At IONA he was responsible for worldwide public relations and industry analyst relations, corporate branding and the company Web site.
