NEW YORK—Healthcare public relations specialist The Chandler Chicco Agency has opened an office in Los Angeles to support the agency’s burgeoning West Coast business. CCA now represents the three largest biopharmaceutical companies on the West Coast: Amgen, Allergan and Genentech—all won in competitive shoot-outs.

CCA’s new office will be located in Venice and will include staff from CCA’s New York operation as well as local-based talent. Julie Adrian, a 14-year healthcare PR veteran and most recently co-leader of the healthcare practice of Cohn & Wolfe in New York, will lead the new office.

“Our client list on the West Coast has grown dramatically in the past three years, both as a result of organic growth into new assignments and wins from competitive pitches,” says agency partner Gianfranco Chicco. “In addition to allowing us to enhance client service for our West Coast-based clients, this new office will enable us to pursue new biotech clients and target the larger institutional providers in the western U.S. Our ambition is to become the largest independent healthcare agency in the region within a year.”

CCA’s Biosector 2 offering will soon claim a presence on the West Coast, Chicco says. B2 is a specialized company developed to focus on the unique needs of specialty pharmaceutical, diagnostic and biotechnology companies, as well as those specializing in drug discovery, medical devices, drug delivery, genomics and healthcare services.
