NEW YORK—Healthcare public relations specialist Chandler Chicco Agency has formed s strategic alliance with Seoul-based Macoll, one of the largest independent healthcare agencies in Asia. Macoll will be the first agency in the CCA Asian Healthcare Network, which will include additional alliances in China, Hong Kong and Australia.
“PR is becoming increasingly global, and this alliance will help us meet the needs of our clients,” says Yun-Hee Lee, president of the Seoul firm. “It gives Macoll access to tremendous resources and reach while providing Chandler Chicco with a strong position in Asia.”
CCA’s client roster includes eight of the world’s 10 largest pharmaceutical firms. Macoll, entering its fifth year, has established a strong healthcare client base that includes Novartis, Pfizer, and Astra Zeneca.
“The healthcare market in Asia, from a PR perspective, is evolving very quickly,” says Robert Chandler, co-founder and principal of CCA. “New policy initiatives, public demands for health information and the growing sophistication of media channels are shaping an entirely new discourse, one that we’re eager to be involved in. Our ambition is to have the largest independent healthcare network in place in Asia by the end of 2005.”
The two agencies will develop personnel exchange programs so that Macoll and CCA employees can absorb each other’s cultures and work practices.
