NEW YORK—Chandler Chicco Agency has been selected as the agency of record for the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development. The Alliance hired CCA to help develop a comprehensive communications strategy to support a series of clinical trials that begin this year. The international public health communications campaign will be coordinated out of CCA’s Washington, D.C. office.
The TB Alliance creates world-class medicines for the poor, and is the only non-profit drug developer searching for a better, affordable cure for tuberculosis, a disease that kills someone every 15 seconds. The TB bacterium infects one-third of the world’s population, resulting in nine million new cases of active TB and two million deaths each year.
CCA will assist the TB Alliance announce a series of global tuberculosis drug clinical trials that will include test sites in Brazil, Spain, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, the United States and elsewhere.
“CCA’s creative thinking and strategic approach will help us put these critical trials on the radar screen during a very exciting—but crowded—environment for global health,” says Gwynne Oosterbaan of the TB Alliance. “CCA’s understanding of that landscape, combined with a thoughtful outlook on the challenges facing the healthcare business today, impressed us during a comprehensive search.”
