SAN FRANCISCO — eBay's Joe Carberry has joined Charles Schwab as SVP of communications, leading the function and reporting to CMO Jonathan Craig.

Carberry left eBay in May after two years as VP of global communications, reporting to its outgoing CCO Alan Marks and supporting Devin Wenig, president of eBay Marketplaces. He started at Charles Schwab on July 6 overseeing corporate communications, which includes PR, employee, executive comms and events.

At Brunswick, he advised on corporate reputation and public affairs and was the co-lead the firm’s big data practice area. From 2009 to 2010, Carberry was tasked with reviving MS&L’s brand in the western region, before its acquisition of Schwartz PR. Carberry also spent more than nine years at Visa, leading global public affairs before departing in April 2009.
