LONDON—Chime Communications has merged its Bell Pottinger Consumer unit with boutique firm Resonate to create a new consumer agency the company says would rank among the top 15 in the U.K. Bell Pottinger Consumer was one of three brands operating under the Bell Pottinger Public Relations (formerly QBO Bell Pottinger) brand, while Resonate was founded three years ago by former Shine Communications directors Michael Frohlich and Graham Drew.

Frohlich will lead the new firm, with Drew and Bell Pottinger Consumer chief Tricia Moon serving as directors. The firm will keep the Resonate name, which Chime described as “a strong brand” after being recognized as one of the leading U.K. consumer PR operations by Marketing magazine for the second consecutive year.

Resonate now has a staff of 25 and a client list that includes Müller, Vauxhall, Fortnum & Mason, Nuts Magazine, 118 118, Disney Consumer Products, FX Channel, Pernod Ricard, Lastminute.com, 888.com, Fila, Gems TV and The Body Shop.
