LONDON—Chime Communications, the U.K.’s largest public relations company, has announced strong results for the first six months of 2008, with operating income up 24.2 income to £54.5 million, organic growth of 11.4 percent, and operating profit up 24.9 percent to £9.1 million.

The company owns several public relations brands including Bell Pottinger Business & Brand, Bell Pottinger Corporate & Financial, Bell Pottinger Public Affairs, Good Relations, Harvard, Resonate, and Teamspirit, which account for the largest share of its revenues. It also owns advertising and digital companies.

According to Lord Bell, chairman of Chime Communications: “I am delighted that we have maintained our excellent performance through the first half of the year. Our businesses have started the second half of the year well and this, together with our continued emphasis on cost control, leaves us well placed to meet our expectations for the full year.  It is widely predicted that economic growth will slow in 2009, but our strategy of a diversified group of businesses will protect us”.

Chime says just over 90 percent of annual revenue is committed for 2008, and that it has agreed a new £32 million five year debt facility
