WASHINGTON, D.C.—Chlopak Leonard Schechter & Associates, the strategic communications and public affairs subsidiary of Omnicom’s Gavin Anderson & Company, has expanded its senior management team with the promotion of Shannon Hunt and Beau Phillips to partners. Hunt and Phillips will join the original founders—Bob Chlopak, Charlie Leonard and Peter Schechter—as partners helping to oversee the continued growth of the firm, which has offices in Washington, New York and Colorado.

Since joining CLS in 1998, Shannon Hunt has served as senior strategist to several foreign heads of state, corporate executives and others on a host of high-stakes international, corporate and public affairs issues. She leads much of the firm’s international business and coalition. Her past experience includes serving as a senior advisor to Governor Phil Bredesen (D-Tenn.).

A former journalist and political campaign veteran, Phillips has worked with several Major League Baseball players testifying before Congressional hearings into steroid use, on Oracle’s antitrust case against the U.S. Justice Department, and reputation management for accounting firm Andersen during the Enron scandal. He joined CLS in 1999, having previously served as chief of staff, campaign manager and press secretary to U.S. Representative Frank Riggs (R-Calif.).

CLS also announced five new senior vice presidents – four promotions from within the organization (Brian Berry, Juan Cortiñas-Garcia, Phyllis Cuttino and Josh Wenderoff) plus the addition of Charles “Chuck” Young who joined the firm in January.
