Clayton Joins Golin Public Affairs Unit

—GolinHarris Public Affairs has appointed Washington public affairs veteran Joe Clayton as executive vice president in the agency’s public affairs practice.

WASHINGTON DC—GolinHarris Public Affairs has appointed Washington public affairs veteran Joe Clayton as executive vice president in the agency’s public affairs practice.  Clayton will focus on initiating and supporting new business efforts for the office and the public affairs group, as well as provide strategic counsel and hands on support to clients and account teams.

 

Most recently, Clayton was founding partner of Outreach Strategieswhere he developed and managed domestic and international communications, public affairs and new media programming for clients to including the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and United States Climate Action Partnership and advised energy, sustainability and environmental clients on public affairs, advocacy, public relations and stakeholder engagement.

 

Prior to starting Outreach Strategies, Clayton was President and CEO of Widmeyer Communications, where he led the development of multiple practices at the independent agency including public affairs, health care, energy and environment, education, creative, research and digital/interactive. His clients at Widmeyer included the Association of American Publishers, UPS, MedStar Health, The McGraw Hill Companies, First Marblehead, Chase Card Services and Shell Chemicals.
