LONDON—Friends Provident, a leading life and pensions company, has chosen Cohn & Wolfe to boost its profile in consumer and personal finance media in 2010. Cohn & Wolfe emerged victorious following a competitive pitch and will begin working with the company this month.

According to Peter Timberlake, head of public relations for Friends Provident: “Friends Provident is keen to build on its existing brand awareness and foster a sound affinity with its existing and potential customers via the consumer and personal finance media. We were looking for great campaign ideas that would take forward the good work that has been done to build the Friends Provident reputation in an agency with an excellent track record in financial services and a deep understanding of our core services.”

The Friends Provident account will be led by Geoff Beattie, managing director of international corporate affairs, and Jo Swift, corporate account director of C&W London.
