Colbourne Named CEO of Edelman Canada

Freda Colbourne has been named chief executive officer of Edelman Canada. Colbourne has counseled clients such as Cara Foods, the Ontario Government’s Ministry of Health and Tourism Toronto during the SARS crisis, Pfizer Canada, and Mars Canada.

TORONTO—Freda Colbourne has been named chief executive officer of Edelman Canada. Colbourne has counseled clients such as Cara Foods, the Ontario Government’s Ministry of Health and Tourism Toronto during the SARS crisis, Pfizer Canada, Mars Canada and the Certified General Accountants of Canada. In addition, she provided M&A communications counsel on several high profile transactions including the merger of Molson and Coors and the sale of Hudson’s Bay Company.

Prior to Edelman, Freda was a senior communications professional at Molson Breweries where she worked on the company’s responsible use program; major product launches and sponsorship events; and Molson’s corporate social responsibility initiatives supporting AIDS and breast cancer.

In addition, John McHugh will succeed Colbourne as executive vice president and national practice leader, corporate, financial and public affairs.
