LONDON—SABMiller global communications and reputation SVP Nigel Fairbrass is departing after 10 years with the brewing giant.

Fairbrass is to "pursue a new opportunity", according to an internal memo circulated to SABMiller staff today.

"Nigel has played a central role in building the excellent corporate reputation that SABMiller enjoys today and has helped deliver many important communications campaigns for corporate M&A activities including our acquisition of Foster’s in Australia and the merger of Miller Brewing Company with Molson Coors in the USA," said SABMiller corporate affairs director Catherine May in the memo.

Fairbrass joined SABMiller's investor relations department in 2003, before rising up the ranks to his current role. Previously, he worked at Tulchan and Brunswick.

He also sat on SABMiller's corporate affairs leadership council, which is led by May, who joined the company in 2012 as corporate affairs director. May's arrival followed the the ascension of Sue Clark to MD of SABMiller's European operations earlier that year.

May added that she is "considering resourcing options" regarding Fairbrass' role at SABMiller.

"After ten years with SABMiller I'm excited about the prospect of doing something different," Fairbrass told the Holmes Report.
