Communications Chief Sheffer Named an Officer at GE

Gary Sheffer has been promoted to vice president of communications and public affairs at GE. Sheffer oversees external and internal communications across GE globally and provides strategic communications and public affairs advice to GE executives.

FAIRFIELD, CT—Gary Sheffer has been promoted to vice president of communications and public affairs at GE. Sheffer oversees external and internal communications across GE globally and provides strategic communications and public affairs advice to GE executives on a full range of corporate reputation issues.

 

Sheffer is one of three executives named an officer of the company this week. GE currently has 190 GE officers globally, who lead large revenue generating businesses or are in critical functional roles, helping to drive growth.

 

Sheffer joined GE in 1999 after 17 years in journalism and government communications. For 10 years, he served as a press aide to two New York governors. He previously was a newspaper reporter and editor, earning several writing and reporting awards.
