BOSTON—Cause marketing specialist Cone has created a task force to provide strategic counsel and recommendations to clients based on the latest relief and recovery efforts. The task force will advise clients on how to best proceed with cash or value-in-kind donations for those affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The Disaster Response Council consists of senior agency executives from each of the agency’s three specialty areas: cause branding, brand marketing and issues and crisis management. The cross-disciplinary team can provide guidance for clients wishing to assist in relief efforts amidst a rapidly changing environment.

“Information from the government, private sector and on-the-ground sources changes by the hour,” said Jens Bang, Cone president and CEO. “We felt the best way to help our clients respond to the disaster, was to create a panel of experts that can quickly provide strategic counsel on the best application of client’s critical donations of cash, goods and services.”

Cone is monitoring breaking news from the Gulf Coast, action taken by government and relief organizations, private sector corporate citizenship efforts, and the needs of people directly and indirectly impacted by this storm. The Disaster Response Council will be provided as an added-value service and at no cost to Cone clients.
