Cone Expands Cause Branding Practice

Cone is expanding its cause branding practice with new client wins and eight new hires. The addition of new staff comes on the heels of several new business wins, including The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, SBC Communications, Deloitte, and Starbucks

BOSTON—Cone is expanding its cause branding practice with new client wins and eight new hires.

The addition of new staff comes on the heels of several new business wins, including The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, SBC Communications Inc, Deloitte, and Starbucks, and expanding assignments from existing clients such as PNC, which tapped Cone to handle media relations and communications for PNC Grow Up Great, a 10 year, $100 million investment in school readiness, and the American Heart Association on its Go Red for Women campaign, raising awareness of heart disease as the “cause of the decade.”

Recent new hires include Alana Schmitt, vice president, who has has held various positions with Verizon Communications (formerly Bell Atlantic), including director of brand strategy and director of marketing for Verizon Venture 36; Jonathan Yohannan, account director, who was most recently with the food and nutrition practice at Ketchum; and Christianna Beebe, account supervisor, formerly director of communications at non-profit ACCION International.

Other additions are Jessica Rothchild, senior account executive; Teresa Febo, Christina Lieu,account executives; Chevenee Reavis, research associate; and Stephen Schonberg, assistant account executive.
