Aqua America, which provides public drinking water and wastewater services to 2.8 million people in 13 states, has hired Melissa Grimm as director of corporate and public affairs.

BRYN MAWR, PA—Aqua America, which provides public drinking water and wastewater services to 2.8 million people in 13 states, has hired Melissa Grimm as director of corporate and public affairs. Grimm will oversee the company’s federal, state and municipal legislative affairs, communications and corporate contributions. Grimm comes to Aqua America after serving as executive director of Philadelphia 2016, where she spent the last year developing and executing a regional strategy that led the City of Philadelphia to the second round of cities considered by the U.S. Olympic Committee to host the 2016 Olympics. Prior to that Grimm was director of the Port of Philadelphia and Camden. PHOENIX—Allied Waste Industries, a waste services company, has hired James Zeumer as senior vice president of public affairs, communications and investor relations. Mike Burnett, who had previously overseen Allied communications activities, continues with the company in his primary role as senior vice president and treasurer. Zeumer served for the past nine years as vice president of investor and corporate communications for Pulte Homes. Prior to Pulte Homes, he held roles of increasing responsibility with Ply Gem Industries, ICF Kaiser Engineers and Alcide Corporation. PEWAUKEE, WI—American Transmission Co. has named Randy Satterfield director of regulatory, government affairs and communications. Satterfield joined ATC in 2003 as director of communications. Previously, he was senior account manager for Wood Communications Group in Madison and an assistant director in the Bureau of Consumer Protection at the Federal Trade Commission in Washington D.C. VANCOUVER, BC—Former National Hockey League Referee and former Vancouver Park Board Chair, Malcolm Ashford, has joined PMI Gold Corporation as the company’s new vice president of corporate communications.
