New in-house staff at Aetna, Guidant Financial, and Motor Trend Auto Shows.

HARTFORD, CT—Aetna has appointed Jeffrey Chaffkin to lead investor relations, reporting to executive vice president and chief financial officer Joseph Zubretsky. Chaffkin will be vice president, responsible for maintaining Aetna’s relationships with the investor and analyst communities. He joins Aetna from Charter Oak Partners, an equity hedge fund based in Westport, Conn., where he was a general partner responsible for recommending healthcare investments. Before that, he was a managing director and pharmaceutical analyst at UBS in New York.

BELLEVUE, WA—Guidant Financial Group, a leading retirement account facilitator, has added Katie Lawrence as public relations specialist. Lawrence’s responsibilities include media relations, serving as the company’s primary media relations contact and research and management of media contacts, investment clubs and similar, nationwide groups that could actively promote Guidant. Previously, she worked as a business development manager for Guidant.

HARRISBURG, PA—Motor Trend Auto Shows has promoted Lauren Holzman to vice president, public relations. In her 11 years with the company, Holzman has been responsible for overseeing the public relations campaigns on behalf of the 23 MTAS auto shows, as well as implementing cross-promotions and strategic partnerships. She began her career as an account executive for Phillips-Ramsey Advertising Agency and later at Bailey/Gardiner Creative Communications.
