NASHVILLE, TN—Nissan Group has named Brian Brockman, currently director, internal communications, as director, group communications, Nissan North America. He will lead teams responsible for all Nissan Group communications activities in North America including corporate, manufacturing, labor and policy communications; multicultural communications; corporate social responsibility and crisis communications. He will report to Kristina Adamski, vice president, corporate communications.

LISLE, IL—The American Association of Insurance Services, a not-for-profit national insurance advisory organization, has hired Melanie Howard as director of corporate communications, responsible for company-wide marketing communications strategy, media relations, internal and executive communications support, and digital and branding initiatives. Previously, Howard served as vice president of marketing for Charter Financial, as vice president of communications for JDRF/Denver, and as CEO of Howard Communications in Los Angeles and Denver.

ATLANTA—BMC Stock Holdings, a leading provider of diversified lumber and building materials and solutions, has appointed Carey Phelps as director, investor relations. Phelps previously served as director, investor relations and corporate communications, at Beazer Homes and before that, as division vice president, investor relations and corporate communications, at Spectrum Brands.
