Bryan Anderson has been named vice president, governmental affairs, at Southern Company, plus new people in new roles at APX Alarm Security Solutions and Consol Energy.

ATLANTA—Bryan Anderson has been named vice president, governmental affairs, at Southern Company. He will manage Southern Company's Washington, D.C., office and direct the company's federal political and regulatory activities, succeeding John Pemberton, who was named senior vice president and general counsel in May. Anderson joins Southern Company from The Coca-Cola Company where he currently serves as vice president, government relations and public affairs.

PROVO, UT—APX Alarm Security Solutions, one of the nation's largest residential security alarm companies, has appointed Kristi Knight as vice president of corporate communications. Most recently, Knight served as the senior director, corporate communications for Omniture. Previously, she served as president of Envision Marketing Services, a full-service marketing and communications agency.

 

PITTSBURGH—Consol Energy has hired Brandon Elliott as its new vice president of investor and public relations.

Elliott comes to Consol Energy from Friess Associates, in Wilmington, Del., where he served as a portfolio manager and equity research analyst.
