ATLANTA—Delta Air Lines has named Tad Hutcheson vice president, community and public affairs, overseeng the airline's global strategy to enhance its leadership position in the communities it serves. Prior to joining Delta, Hutcheson served as vice president of marketing and sales for AirTran Airways. He had worked for Delta's planning and marketing departments prior to leaving the company in 1995. He also served as director of strategic planning and, later, vice president of marketing for Kiwi International Air Lines prior to joining AirTran.

WHITE PLAINS, NY—T. Daniel Tearno will step down from his day-to-day position as senior vice president and chief corporate relations officer at Heineken USA after 16 years with the company.
Tearno will transition to a consulting role for the company in 2012 but will continue to advise the company on a wide range of matters relating to public policy, government relations and public relations and contribute to its presence in Washington, DC.

NEW YORK—Harper’s Magazine has appointed Jason Chupick its vice president, public relations. He will report to John MacArthur, president and publisher. Chupick is a veteran of several public relations agencies in New York. He is also the founding editor of mediabistro.com's blog about the PR industry, PRNewser. Before joining Harper’s, he was media director at Crenshaw Communications and vice president of media relations at Plesser Holland, where he worked with media organizations including WIRED, CNET, Salon, and MIT’s Technology Review.

EATONTOWN, NJ—Altior, a developer of advanced network and storage embedded systems solutions, has appointed Byron Rashed as director of marketing and public relations. Prior to joining Altior, Rashed was director of global marketing at FirstCarbon Solutions and SSH Communications Security, where he was responsible for lead generation programs, product marketing, public relations and corporate marketing. Earlier, he was senior global marketing manager at VPNet Technologies.

CHATTANOOGA—Mary Danielson has been promoted to director of corporate communications for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, responsible for the execution of external stakeholder communications, as well as communications for the company’s 5,400 employees. Danielson previously served as manager of media relations, and remains the company’s chief media spokesperson in addition to her new responsibilities.

NORFOLK, VA—ValueOptions, a national behavioral health and wellness company, has named Thomas Warburton vice president of corporate communications. He will manage corporate strategy and annual plans for all aspects of the company’s external and internal communications and oversee the creative services department, as well as advertising, editorial and media relations efforts. He previously worked at the company for two years as vice president of marketing, before founding Chordstruck Communications Design, a boutique consulting firm.
