Sonoco has elected Roger Schrum, vice president, investor relations and corporate affairs, as a corporate officer; plus new people in new roles at Western Emulsions, Public Service of New Hampshire and Budget Waste.

HARTSVILLE, SC—Sonoco, one of the largest global packaging companies, has elected Roger Schrum, vice president, investor relations and corporate affairs, as a corporate officer. Schrum is responsible for the company’s investor relations, corporate communications and corporate affairs activities and reports to Harris DeLoach, Sonoco chairman, president and chief executive officer. Prior to joining Sonoco in 2005, Schrum was vice president, human resources and communications for NorthWestern Corporation.


DANA POINT, CA—Western Emulsions has named Phil Vandermost as vice president of public affairs, responsible for government relations and communications. With operations in California, Arizona and New Mexico, Western Emulsions manufactures road rehabilitation and asphalt surface treatment products. Vandermost has more than 20 years of marketing, public affairs and government relations experience in the real estate development and transportation industries. For the past eight years he was a principal in his own firm overseeing public affairs projects for organizations such as the Orange County Transportation Authority, City of Anaheim, City of Victorville, Shea Properties, John Laing Homes, and Stirling Enterprises. Prior to launching his own firm, he held public affairs management roles at The Walt Disney Company and The Koll Company.


MANCHESTER, NH—Public Service of New Hampshire, the state’s largest electric utility, has named Paulette Faggiano as its new communications and public affairs manager. Faggiano will be responsible for managing external communications for PSNH, including corporate positioning, advertising, and media placement. In addition, she will oversee PSNH’s statewide corporate contributions effort.  Faggiano has been with PSNH for 12 years and previously served as a senior communications specialist.


CALGARY—Canadian waste solutions company BWI Holdings, operating as Budget Waste, has named Cari Anderson as director of corporate communications and investor relations.  Anderson most recently served in an investor relations capacity with a public mining company.
