PITTSBURGH—PNC Financial Services has appointed David Chamberlin as executive vice president and chief communications officer, replacing Donna Peterman, who has held the position since 2003. Chamberlin joined PNC as senior vice president and director of internal communications last year, and was previously executive vice president and general manager of Edelman’s Dallas office. He also had led Edelman’s Shanghai office for two years.

BOTHELL, WA—Alder BioPharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, has appointed David Walsey as vice president of corporate communications. He joins Alder from BrewLife, a W2O Company, where he was managing director and head of the San Diego office, leading corporate communications and investor and public relations programs for healthcare clients. He previously headed corporate communications and investor relations as a vice president for Optimer Pharmaceuticals. 

CHARLOTTE, NC—Melissa Prince has been promoted to vice president of corporate communications for family entertainment network INSP. Having joined INSP in 2005, Prince most recently served as director of corporate communications. In her new position, she will be responsible for oversight of corporate and personnel public relations; media interviews, promotional tours, press conferences; and managing all of INSP’s internal and consumer-affairs related messaging.
