WASHINGTON, DC—The Grocery Manufacturers Association has appointed Kelsey Johnson as director of state affairs. Johnson's experience includes more than five years in the business sector and three years as a former staffer in the offices of the Minnesota House, Senate and Attorney General. She joins GMA from Hill Capitol Strategies where she represented corporations, coalitions, non-profits, trade and governmental associations on a variety of issue areas.

LOS ANGELES—NBC Universal Cable Entertainment has named Nidia Caceros Kilde as vice president, communications, responsible for consumer and trade media relations on behalf of USA Network, Syfy, Bravo, E! Entertainment, Oxygen and Esquire Network. Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Caceros Kilde was director, corporate communications, at The Walt Disney Company.

EL SEGUNDO, CA—Sabrina Steele has been promoted to executive director of the corporate communications and public affairs division of The Aerospace Corporation. She will lead public affairs and media relations, internal and external communications, executive communications, technical publications, customer relations, event planning, digital media, marketing communications, and corporate branding. Before Aerospace Corp., she worked at Raytheon and Hughes Aircraft Company in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility.

NEW YORK—S&P Capital IQ, a business unit of McGraw Hill Financial and a leader in financial data, research and analytics, has hired Sunny Uberoi as vice president, global communications, focusing on internal and external audiences. Most recently, Uberoi was the head of stakeholder engagement communications at Deloitte. Earlier, he was the global head of communications for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.

LOS ANGELES—Starz has promoted Amy Bell to senior vice president, brand strategy and marketing communications, responsible for developing the consumer and corporate brand strategy and integrated marketing communications for the company's original series and affiliate planning. Bell joined Starz in 2008 as executive director, marketing communications. She has 18 years of industry experience.

MIAMI—MDC Partners advertising agency CP+B has promoted Katie Kempner to chief communications officer. She will oversee the overall communications for the agency’s global offices in Boulder, Miami, Los Angeles, London, São Paulo and Gothenburg. She was formerly EVP, executive director of global communications.
